Automotive Service Technician is a nationally designated trade under the Inter-provincial Red Seal program. The work of an Automotive Service Technician involves reassembling and testing repaired items against manufacturers’ standards, as well as performing preventative maintenance such as wheel alignments, oil changes and tune-ups. Automotive Service Technicians examine, test and repair the parts and systems on cars and light trucks. They use computerized diagnostic equipment for testing, adjusting and repairing key vehicle components such as engines, steering systems, braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions and electrical systems.
Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Level 1-4 Challenge Exam Refresher Course
The term of apprenticeship for a Automotive Service Technician is four years (four 12 month periods) that includes on-the-job training and technical training. Out of these 4 levels , some levels of apprenticeship may or may not be challenge-able, depending on the province. We offer 4o hour refresher courses to challenge level exams.
Automotive Service Technician IP (Inter-Provincial) Red Seal Challenge Exam Refresher Course
Once an Automotive Service Technician has worked in his/her field for a requisite number of hours (requirements must be verified through the provincial apprenticeship board) then he/she may wish to write the provincially administered Inter-Provincial Red Seal exam for Automotive Service Technician, which will qualify him/her to work anywhere in Canada.
For qualified candidates (approved by apprenticeship board), we offer a 40-hour refresher course that will prepare them to challenge the Inter-Provincial Red Seal examination.
